There are plenty of complaints about apr also. The companies i dont hear anything bad about for a stock chip is Revo and Unitronic. Plus both have BT sw if you ever decide you want a bigger turbo in the future (uni being much better than revo in that case). Both of their stock turbo chips are just as power if not more than gaic

with them, you can also get a sps3 that will let you change timing and boost w/o needing a vagcom or mbc along with different maps like 93, 100oct, and stock mode. They are kind of pricey at like $300 but something nice to have if you like to make changes alot.

Uni since you can get better BT file. However if you dont plan on ever going that route, there is tons more Revo dealers so you are less likely to have to ship your ecu out

i am an apr guy, but again it was mainly because they were local, however i did notice enough of a difference that i think it was money well spent!

I havent had any issues (knock on wood) with the giac chip. APR is most local to me, but I got a GIAC chipped ecu for cheaper than the reflash wouldve cost me, so cost was the main factor for me. Then, and now, no plans for BT, and the extra boost etc have certainly been enjoyed :-) Just be reasonable and do yourself the favor of putting in a boost gauge first to make sure you are hitting boost/vac like you should be, and have all maintenance done. Less fun to spend money on those things, but well worth it.
