Good luck... cheapest is around 8-9k, and that's probably a pretty beat car with high miles.

A guy here in south central PA got one with 150k on it and a motor swap for $7k. He said it wasn't in bad condition.

...no offense to you, but seeing as your a "cheapskate" i really dont think an audi is for you because things may get a little pricey

Man if I came across a good condition TT for 6k I'd buy it myself for parts! I havent seen one go for that low of a price yet, closest was $7800 with a salvage title.

Yeah, at that price it's worth it to buy just to part out.

Yea If you find an Audi TT that cheap

A: Its in a junk yard or wrecked or both

B: It has something or some things expensive wrong with it

You're not going to want to be a cheapskate on an Audi
even if you get an Audi TT for that price you're almost without a doubt going to have to spend the same amount as the 8-9 grand ones at least to fix it.
parts arnt cheap and some works really hard to do yourself without experience.

parts are going to be expensive and replacing them is going to be too time consuming to be worth it
Basically if you want to play it cheap an Audi isnt the way to go

And what do you mean by starter car?
are you talking about your first car?

$6500

This is the guy near me. I was a bit off, he got it for around $7k and it has 150k miles. Still, this is about as cheap as it's gonna get.

I spoke to him on the phone since I was the only local TT guy he found. The guy wanted to use it as a daily but he ran outta money and never really drove it so he's selling it. He said he did some maintenance stuff and he said it ran great afterwards. He said the interior and exterior were in excellent condition especially for the age of the car and it does seem like he was right going by the pictures.

Only thing is the engine was swapped out of some other car (I'm guessing a timing belt failure). You could probably barter a pretty good price for it.
