ATP Eliminator kit GT2871R
I know this topic has been beat to death and I know that opinions on this kit differ from one extreme to the other. However, for what I am looking for, this kit seems perfect. A basically all in one, bolt-on kit (as far as the turbo is concerned) that will give me a nice little bump in power. I am not looking for huge power gains or lower 1/4 times where as I am more of a backroads type of driver and those number don't mean a lot to me.
So my question is: I am looking to buy the GT2871R eliminator kit. What else will I need for a complete install? My car is a 2001 180Q AWP engine code, mods so far are borla exhaust, forge tip, forge dv, and apr 93 flash. I will be buying anAPR FMICat the same time I buy the turbo ifI decide to do it. I assumeI'll need new FPR, injectors, and programming but I don't know which ones. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

you will need 440cc (or415 @ 3.5bar)injectors, a 440 revo or unitronics file and a fuel pump.
Just be warned, throwing a 400hp turbo on a manifold and flange only good for around 250hp isnt a good idea. The turbo will spool much later than a t25 manifold and housing and make far less power. You will be better off getting a pagparts gt2871r turbo kit and a cheaper fmic to offset the cost. If you go that route, 630cc injectors and Uni file will be best.
But basically,
gt2871r .64 = full boost 3500rpms and capable of 320-375whp
gt71r elim = full boost 4500rpms and make 300-340whp

IMO, for being a backroads driver, i.e. for a street application not track, the elim is kinda the last thing you'd want. For street use you want something that spools quick to pull you out of corners and be fun on the street.
The 2871R Elim is what...$1800? For $1800, you could buy a manifold+downpipe+brand new T3-60 trim and oil lines from pagparts. For $3200 you can get all the stuff you'd need from pagparts minus intercooler+clutch.
That's just a heads up for you. Doing a turbo swap correctly is pretty involved anyway, so you might as well do it right IMO rather than cutting corners with an elim.

thanks for the reply cincy. always good to have your input. so from an accessibility/reliability/drivability stand point would a pagparts kit be my best option? i was also looking into the apr kit but they seem a little expensive for the gains they achieve. what kind of price could i expect from the pagparts kit? would you suggest changing rods w/ this kit?

so from an accessibility/reliability/drivability stand point would a pagparts kit be my best option? It will be about the same as a fully done elim but will make more power and a t3s60 will spool basically at 3k.
i was also looking into the apr kit but they seem a little expensive for the gains they achieve. what kind of price could i expect from the pagparts kit? Basically the same as a apr kit, but for far less. The turbo is still a garrett, manifold is cast, the parts fit perfect, and the tune is perfect
would you suggest changing rods w/ this kit? Wont be needed with proper boost control

what type of manifold can i get with the 2871R Elim kit? I don't want to use my stock one, i would feel safer with a newer one.
what about this?

thanks for the input guys. would the pagparts kit be similar in quality to say the apr kit? would i have to send my ecu off for programming or do they have local dealers like apr and garrett do?
