Default Audi TT Mechatron problem

A few months ago I purchased a mint condition 2005 TT with 12,000 miles on it. Just recently I started having a gear shifting problem, having difficulty shifting out of first gear. The car was still under warranty and Audi fixed the problem by replacing the Mechatron at a cost of about $3000. I am quite concerned about this and would like to know if this is a common problem with TT's and if I can expect similar problems in the future. Any advice on this would be much appreciated. Otherwise my TT is a great car. Many thanks.

I have no clue what a mechatron is, and a google search pulls up hits for robotics, Transformers, and screw feeders for bulk solids. No car parts.

Sure you didn't get burned? Invoice have a part number on it?

The mechatron part number is 02E-025-AD. When searching Google try "Audi TT mechatron problem. Thanks
