Default auto x-ed today

Today was the first time I've ever driven in an Auto X event. It was at the TireRack in South Bend, IN. Looking at the posted times board, I think I placed 5th in the Street Modified class, but I ended up taking off before the 'official' results were announced. It was pretty fun considering the opponents I was up against in that class. Quite a few STi were there, and a handful of Miatas.

There was one car that really stood out, owned buy this guy who approached me while I was waiting to run. He asked what year my TT was, and we shot the $hit for a minute. Then he said ha had an '05.I asked if he had seen the '08 parked a couple spots down from me, and he said he also had an '08. V6, DSG. Twin Turbo.

I was skeptical at first, but entertained him with believing that there was a V6 Twin Turbo TT.
"Oh really, wow. I bet that thing hauls."

He said it was quick, but he brought out his Beetle today to get ready for One Lap. I asked if it was the Beetle I had seen from far away, with a silver CF hood.

"Yeah, that's it. It's a DSG car, too."

I don't know much about Beetles, but I didn't think they came here with DSG. So I got out of my car and went over to have a closer look. OMG, this car was a beast. I think it was the Euro version, it was WAY wider than the US version, had Haldex AWD, completely gutted, caged, Audi TT dash, some kind of rally computer mounted on the steering wheel, an intercooler tucked behind the front bumper, some kind of sound tuneable exhaust (had plates that you could add on, like a motorcross bike would have) n2o lines in the back seat area, OZ white VW edition wheels that were super deep, huge brakes on all four corners, etc...

He only beat me by 2 seconds though.

nah, no pics... but trust me, it was the baddest Beetle ever made EVER. maybe it's online somewhere, I'll look. But more importantly, this guy has a twin turbo V6 '08 TT... and I dont doubt him a bit after seeing his Beetle.

Guess he has the $ to shell out for a HPA kit. A pair of 28r's make a crap load of power on a 3.2, still rather have a big motha like a gt4082r
