Aux cooling fan?
Im beginning to suspect it. I havent actually popped the hood to look yet.
I hear people say that runing the A/C will kick one on and cool the engine bay if you're running hot... and my car does not do that when Im running hot (which is just about any time Im sitting still for very long during the summer.) I can't leave the car at idle for more than 109 minutes before it goes a notch past the center. A/C does nothing for it.
It isnt a temp sensor. I have a brand new green top.
I'll check it out today when the sun comes up.

he made an approximation of 108' 34' i'm sure...
anyway, i have the same problem with the idle, after 5 minutes, i think i have old coolant in there and it needs to be flushed... or maybe my water pump is missing impellers... or maybe my engine is just that HOT[sm=badbadbad.gif]....

G12 is a lifetime coolant. It doesn't get changed, unless you are doing the thermostat or a similar project.
Oh by the way, in the manual it states "Don't let your car idle, simply get in and go."
Now we all know that after hard driving (shifting close to redline for an extended amount of time) or having extensive engine/preformance mods, that the turbo needs to cool down.
One notch past the center isn't really that major, especially in these hot summer months.
I could see if you were overheating on a regular basis while the car was moving... that would be reason for concern.

Sorry... typo. That was supposed to say 10 minutes.
Also, This happens whether I've been driving or not.
I can get in first thing in the morning. Start it. Idle for about 15 minutes (long if its completely cold), and im one notch above. If I dont drive it immediately or turn it off, it will go two notches over within 5 more minutes. If I still dont drive it or turn it off, the idle starts to dip. It's been this way since I've had the car but its particularly bad in the summer months of course.
Nothing terrible has ever happened when im in situations like traffic though. I mean it'll go up to two notches past center... the idle will become unsteady, and the A/C temp goes completely ambient (no cold air). Once i get moving again and it gets under two notches past center, A/C comes back and idle goes back to normal. Unfortunately, I've had to run it in traffic for extended periods not by choice and nothing blew up. It's still a pain in the butt not having cold air when its already hot outside. Not to mention I do get very concerned during these very seldom occurances.

The second fan doesnt come on until you reach the line past center. Im not sure what deg that is, but Ryan seems to be well versed in this subject since he had so many troubles before.
