Default Avg. temp gauge reading?

I just got my TT and I was wondering if it was running too hot.

After warm up and a driving for a while + or - 30 mins my needle reads right in the middle. Is that pretty much normal?

Thanks for the help.

its normal.

if you want to know the exact temp you can use your HVAC controls to monitor.

1. press the recirculate button + up button at the same time.
2. use the temp adjustment to find channel 49
3. press the recirculate button to monitor channel
4. should see a temp of between 90 and 92 normally and up to 104 before the fans kick in.
5. press the recirculate button + up button again to return to normal.

you checking block 49 or block 50? block 50 is a more averaged out reading rather than by the second/minute.

I hate the cooling system in this car. If I idle more than 10-15 minutes, Im one notch past center. 5 more minutes, Im two notches past center. After that... it starts to idle funny and the A/C stops blowing cold air. Other than stealing my HP and annoying the crap out of me... it doesnt have any bad effects to the car no matter how long it does it or how hot it gets though.
Both fans work, brand new coolant sensor (green top) is fine, coolant level is fine.

I think im just going to upgrade my fans. I'm gonna just buy two fans that run at higher speeds and more output air to further cool it all better. POS just pissed me off.

grr

fans dont run until 104.. thats the problem. source a new temp switch that kicks the fans on at 95ish and up your idle to 1000rpms. that will help immensely.
