Default BAD alloy wheel repair specialists

Well im lucky to even get to laugh about this, but i was actually a couple hundred dollars away from gettin the so called "ALLOY REPAIR SPECIALISTS" to fix up my Fat Fives last week. The problem is more in my head than on the car....the wheel lips are alil torn up and there were some places i wanted smoothed and polished out. I recomended a friend of mine to get his fixed by the same people (turns out, the man and wife team who "repaired" his wheels )didnt know that on aluminum rims, ur shouldnt use a blow torch to heat them up, because they will melt and lose their shape and therefore ruin the rim. My friend lost two rims to these people for their idiotic mistake. He actually stopped them in mid-flight lettin the specialist know of their mistake. Their reply, "opps+sorry"

Question is, do any of you guys know of places the will repair alloy rims (like the fat fives) and reasonalbe prices, or if its a do it urself type deal if you got the right equipment

Concidering you can buy new rims for $500 from tire rack, I would look into just getting some new ones. That's what I ended up doing when two of mine cracked (still worked fine, just couldn't get a shop to mount new tires on them).

Now when you say $500 do you mean for original OEM Fat fives, or did you mean just gettin a totally different set??? Either way, that is a good idea
