Default bad MAF?

hey guys recently my tt started running lean, it threw code po171 (generic, too lean bank 1), but i dont hve a check engine light, and ive been gettin crappy gas mileage, theres 73k on the car, so is it possible my maf went bad? i hve an oiled filter idk if tht screwed it up, but im keeping it , im not starting this oiled medium filter vs dryflow debate again so do u guys think i should replace the maf? i cleaned it n it helped a little.
thnx in advance

I would try testing the MAF. When the car is running grab a DMM and probe the power wire. Have someone sit in the car and rev, your voltage should increase with rpm, if you don't see this or it is sporadic i would change it out.

I notice you have very low miles like I do on mine so you might want to check out my post.
Its a temperamental code

After cleaning MAF (oil filter also) it went off but I noticed it coming back on but I also let it sit for long periods of time without driving which may be your case.
The code may go back off again. Drive it more and give it time to see if it will go off on its own.
