Default boost controller question

with a chipped 08 tt I think Im running about 18-20 psi (?). Would a manual boost controller give me better results even with the chip software? I havent hooked a BC up yet to see if the boost drops alot or not at hugher rpms but would a bc help keep my boost longer even with the K03 it uses?

yes it will spool faster and hold longer. Just dont install it until you have the gauge installed.

cool, with the chip the car really pulls hard but seems to drop some at higher rpms. Hookup the same as with the 1.8? Do you know what psi I should set it for? Not sure what the boost level is for the 2.0 w/GIAC.

So is a BC bad for the engine with only a chip? Audiworld guys seem to think so. If Im not trying to boost more than the turbo can handle but just make it hold longer I would think it would be fine. But not sure and I dont want to hurt the new baby. Thanks.

like cincy said, as long as you have your boost gauge installed so you can make sure you dont put too much on the ko3 you shuold be fine... id wait for him to respond though even though im almost positive it would work even with just a chip

Not sure how the mkii is hooked up. Might still be the same, just install it before the wastegate and your fine. AW is far on the consirvative side 99% of the time. They rather talk about wheels and bs like that. Its still a ko3 and 20-22psi is still doable.

Thats cool, I was thinking it should be fine too but just wanted to make sure. I cant see holding boost a little longer being bad as long as you dont go over the turbos limit. Thanks.

THe only way your going to hurt the turbo is by tightening the wastegate to hold boost. The bc isnt going to holdboost to the point of damage.
