Default boost guage prob.

put my guage in all lights work and guageworks except for when im at idle its at like 8 vac and full throttle is boost till like 5 cars running fine what could be the problem.the tee that came with the guagehad a little brass piece on it i left it on there could that be the problem? also if you move the light bulb in the back the neddle moves and will cause it not to set on zero any sugg.

its tee'd at the fpr if that matters

Can you take a pic of this brass piece on the T you are talking about?

I'm willing to bet the gauge isn't that accurate if you can cause the needle to not settle back at 0.

What gauge did you go with?

if the gauge is not at 0 when off, your gauge is worthless

atleast you dont have to take off the dash to install the new gauge. just use the existing hose and wiring.

I'd imagine another concern could be whether or not your hose is kinked.. <<--- sounds really dirty.

If you're talking about the little brass "egg" shaped grommet, that is supposed to go over the hose between the b-nut and the guage to seal off the hose. It collapses around the hose once you screw down the b-nut to seal it. if it was on the t-fitting when it got to you... that was wrong.

IF that's what you're talking about. there's a name for that thing... something french i think... i cant remember though.

i think that the brass thing is a restrictor... and is literally inside the T. Make sure that the end of the T with the brass fitting is going into the vac like that leads to the boost gauge...

if your gauge "buzzes" that may be an indicator that you just need to change up the T fitting so the brass restrictor is in the right place

the brass thing is in the T so it must be that restrictor. what about the light bulb thing....if you barely bump it, the guage will jump to 10psi then you bump it again it will go into vac. this is if you just holding it in your hand not even on the car.... bad gauge??
