Default boost leak ? possibly, need help

So i have installed my Boost factory SMIC. Ever since then my car feels like there is less boost. The intake temp is down and the car feels to pull nicer through the entire RPM range. But it doesnt have the same kick it had before with just the Stock mount and my APR 94+ what can i change to fix my problem? i recently bought NgK iradium spark plugs and i change the oil regularly. I also bought a new maf last year. i have vag-ed the car and i found no new codes. Just the regular listed below.\

its a 105 dollar part from world impex.com behind the glovebox

as far as the boost....did you unhook your map sensor?

Feels like it has less boost? Don't you have a boost gauge? Pick one up it's a cheap investment but it's pretty much essential for any modding.

I did unplug my map sensor. I bought the EFU unit that has a boost guage but it doesnt seem to work at the moment. Do i need to calibrate the Map sensor. It seemed that there was less airflow over the map sensor inside the new smic because of the flange. Is the a bigger map sensor i can use so more air can pass over the sensor ?

There have been issues with the map leaking (often times its the screw). you might want to start there.

how much triming was involved?

there is nothing to recalibrate. you can make a boost leak tester for cheap and test the system yourself if you have an air compressor.

from boost factory from here

"Another side note is the 4+ psi pressure drop of the stock cooler and the unmeasureable drop of the BFSM.

Another interesting link is the APR site that has enough info for you to draw some interesting conclusions.I do notice they dont mention the ambient temp or the intercooler efficiency. My conclusion from this is that it would take all the same info they provide+ some damm hot ambient temps to equal the BFSM

We tested this BFSM and found it to flow 491cfm@1psi pressure drop "

I built a modshack inspired pressure tester for less than $25. PVC came from Lowes, air fitting from NAPA, integrated pressure gauge from the local welding store. Just get one that reads at least to whatever pressure you expect to boost to. Mine actually reads to 60, not that I'll ever see that, but I like to have my bases covered. ; )

Heres the modshack one http://www.modshack.info/Pressure.htm
