Default Bose Premium Sound Question

I didn't get the premium sound manual with my car.

Does the radio automaticallyadjust the volume when coming to a stop and for other conditions?
If so... How do I turn it off?
If not... Anyone have a clue why is my radio doing this?

No, it's a 2003 225 coupe. Sorry I didn't specify.

Usually the problem is the driver... But I think this one is equipment related.
The radio does actually fade in and out.
I would have diagnosed an idiot driver with the top down too if I didn't experience it myself .

The sound changing is the BOSE system. . . . it does that to compensate for the surrounding noise.

The Bose system has a feature called SVC, or Speed Volume Control, which changes the volume depending on the vehicles speed. If you want to adjust it or turn it off, you can hold the MENU button for longer than 2 seconds. This will bring up the secondary menu, and the first item on it is SVC. If you turn the dial counterclockwise, it will make the SVC "softer", and "harder" if turned clockwise. If you just want it turned off, you set it all the way to 0. Enjoy!

Perfect.
Thanks for the info.
I'll get that turned off tonight.
It's a nice idea, but I don't care for it much.

my guess was that he meant that I had the top down, and the fading in and out was because of the difference in road noise etc.

I found it funny because i'd offer the same kind of smartass reply.

Don't worry there pal... I don't have anything against roadsters if that's what you thought. I'd own one too if the peace of mind that you get from having a roof wasn't worth it.

Hold menu for 2 seconds? Haven't heard that way.

Which head unit we talkin' here?

Was looking in the manual today to adjust that same control, 2001 225 TT. What is that, concertII? Manual says turn off radio, hold FM2, turn radio back on. Screen should say GALA, thats the speed controlled volume. FM2 will cycle thru some other options in the menu as well.
