Default breaks and cv boots

here is something novel, went in for tuine up and they say other things are wrong...LOL

according to mechanic: both cv boots leaking and torn although i have never seen any drips on the driveway. we have extended warrenty so just gonna have the dealer fix i guess

breaks under 20% - @ 29,000 miles, sounds maybe right.

so they wanted $450 for breaks? anyone do them at home? anything special about them? i have changed many breaks

If I'm not mistaken the CV boot is filled with grease. You may not see anything on the driveway, but I'm sure it's a mess around the boot.
You definitely want to get that fixed asap!
For the front brakes you need a C-clamp to push the piston in. On the rear you need a piston tool. This spins and pushes the piston in.
A can of Brake quiet is always recommended for new pads.

$450 for brakes?!?! Holy hell!

Did the front brakes in about an hour. No different than any other front brakes I've done.
