Default Broken TT, What else could be wrong

I go to the shop because of the fluttering from my turbo. Turns out I have a bad turbo, drive shaft as missing two bolts and was rubbing the transmission, needed two hoses from the turbo, Pressure plate, Valve cover gasket. looking almost 4k in repairs.

^ not all of that was turbo related.

What did they say was wrong with the turbo? How is your pressure plate bad? The turbo swap, hoses, and valve cover gasket are all easy repairs that anyone can do with simple hand tools and no more than $350-400 in parts.

well the turbo is 1200 and the idiot before me must have f*ed up the car horrible, because they put a 5sp in the 225hp. So im not sure if it was a backyard mechanic doing the work on the transmission before. I also do not have the time or place to do the work on my car as im a full time student.

That would do it. Take to turbott920, he has a ko4-20 his is trying to unload im sure he can sell you for well below that. Also i think you may be the 3rd owner of that car since i remember someone else trying to sell his 225 that someone else put a 5sp in. So if you just got it not to long ago, maybe a couple months, i think thats it. Its just the tranny out of the 180q and its the same clutch and everything, its no big deal, its actually better to some people.
