Buying first Audi any tips?
I found a 2001 TT with 118000 miles on it for $10,500 is that a good deal, are the miles too high? They say its highways miles and they had all scheduled maintenance done with records. Are there any problem areas I should look at?
Also how hard is it to change the oil on the TT's?
Thanks

Too high of a price and all miles are highway miles LOL actually all roads are considered a highway apparently.
2002 is when the 225 came out I believe correct me if I am wrong, and you definitely should get a quattro I turned off my heldex controller once by slightly pulling on the e brake, the car spins its tires sooo much in FWD its impossible to get any traction. and launching is ******* awesome!!!

as for changing oil... on a 180 the filter is in kind of a tricky spot, but its not hard.
as for the car. keep looking around, for 10500 you can probably find a tt with like 75k miles instead

i dunno man it would depend if its a 180 or a 225 and how far you could talk them down.... I have seen then in the 10-13 price range with half the miles....

for 347 weeks and still havent got one. But i do agree that that is way too much money for that car.
i have an 01, and its a 225.
make absolutely SURE that the timing belt water pump and tensioner have been replaced.
they should be done every 60K.
so actually, that car should probably have 2 done by now- or is just about due for its second. if it hasnt been changed yet i would try to negotiate 750-1000 off the asking price just for that issue alone.
good luck! they are awesome cars, just gotta know your stuff though!
oh, and these should help immensely:

Forgot to mention its a 225.
I just test drove one today with all the same options even the same color! It has 75000 miles but its $5000 more.
So if it had the timing belt water pump and tensione replaced recently its a good deal?
Thanks a gain

well if you are really serious about getting a TT i would continue to check autotrader.com daily for one. you will see a ton of them and can compare very easily.
don't settle for one you don't love just because its the only one in your area or whatever. you can definitely find one with probably half the miles for only a few thousand more.
for example, i was about to pay 19.900 for an 01 with 66K on it. keep in mind this was a year and a half ago when the value was higher on these cars (before the mark 2 came out). all of the ones around here were around the same deal, so i was about to do it. luckily the salesman was a total douchebag and turned me off to the deal before i pulled the trigger. i kept checking autotrader for a few more weeks, and found one in pennsylvania (about 50 miles away) that was only 17.000 with 44K on it. i drove all the way out there and the car was so great i just said "ill take it". im glad i waited, and im glad i researched the hell out of it first.
where do you live BTW?? theres gotta be a few others in your area.
oh and as for the one with 75000 miles- find out if THAT one has had the belt done- because not a lot of them have had it, and i cant even begin to tell you how many threads in TT forums are about how someone had the t-belt snap around that mileage mark. trust me you dont wanna rebuild an engine brother!!
