Default buying a tt

hello all, i am about to purchase an 01 225 cab with about 58k miles, give or take. and i've got some ideas for mods i would like to do. i've been perusing the boards for a couple weeks now doing my research before i made up my mind on what to buy (it was between a TT, an RX-8 or an S4 if i really wanted to go all out). i decided to save some money and go with a smaller/cheaper car with better mileage. anyway, my priorities are probably gonna be a boost guage, chip, wheel/tire package and then whatever it is that controls the torque split to the rear wheels.

any suggestions or comments? any insight will be greatly appreciated. holla!!

its a great car and you are gonna love it, but remember that if it has 58K on it you NEED to get the full timing belt service done. read the FAQs here and you will get most of your info.

best of luck!!

[sm=sigh.gif] damn it.

how hard is it to do yourself? or, can you be more specific on the expected price? i wouldn't mind gettin my hands a little dirty, but i am one to prefer to just write a check. thanks!!

and oh yeah, i wanted to add a DV. my last turbo'd car (srt4) was loud as **** and i really want that blow off **whiiiish** if at all possible. i am, however, more interested in performance gains, but i do really like the cool sounds that go with it

i paid 750 out the door for the full t-belt service.

got it done thru an indie audi tuner shop.

the dealer is going to cost you approx. 1400. stay away from THAT place if you can.

Plus about $500 - $1200 for labor depending on where you go.

ok, fantastic, thanks!! now, will it do any good to get a DP without going full exhaust? a DP goes for around $300 or so, and an exhaust runs 4 digits and i don't have that much extra to spend ona car thatwon't be paid off.

and has anyone run acrossthe Forge - The Splitter Combination DV/BOV

i know you guys aren't big fans of bov's, but this company seems reputable. just gettin some thoughts.

so what i'm lookin at is: belt, boost guage, dv (or a bov if it will work), chip then DP. that should be plenty to beat a 300 hp auto A6, right? (that's my goal. to embarass this jackass i know in an A6)
