I am getting a code on my car, can a local parts store scan it or do i need to take it to audi?

They should be able to give you the code, but it'll just be a number, and you'll need to find someone to tell you what that number means.

 

I went to Auto Zone and they scanned it and told me that I was either running too lean or rich. They couldnt pin point it but got real close. I bought a Vag-Com and its great. Its tells the codes and clears them and lets me change a few things and do real time monitoring. Worth the bucks.

 

AutoZone can scan it and get a code and what the code means. They will not clear it though...some sort of regulation that they can be fined for.
