Hey, i have a 225 audi tt and it shakes at 60-80mph. it started today. can this be caused by a faulty MAF? or its something else? the whole car vibrates at 70,75 mph and gets worse when you accelerate?

 

Definitely not the MAF...

I'd replace your blinker fluid before The MAF.

Sounds like a wheel is off balance, or you need an alignment.

Check to see if a wheel weight fell off (Look for a clean spot in your brake dust on the inside of the wheel)

Or maybe with the weather you have some ice on the rim that is throwing the balance off.

 

yeh, i live in albany and we had severe ice and snow this weekend. today i took my car, and it started shaking. i noticed it only happens on snow/ice days. what should i do to check if its that? where do i look for ice throwing the balance off etc?

 

Ice stuck inside the wheel well. Go to a carwash and high pressure spray that $hit out.

 

dayum you get up to 60-80 on snow and ice?

 

Speedo says 75, radar says 10 .

Boost + Ice = Speedo Error.

 

haha that reminds me... i was doing some parking lot fun and got up to 70 haha

 

check your tires also ......sometimes a bubble can form insideand throw your whole balance off resulting in a blown tire later down the line.

 

loose wheels bolt(s) or problem witha wheel or tire

 

Same thing happened to me in snowy conditions. Just kick the packed snow out from under your wheel wells as mentioned above.
