Default Car won't start

Had the car washed yesterday. Drove it for about 15 minutes. Parked and left it alone for about 10 minutes. Went back to the car and it wouldn't start. The starter is cranking but nothing is "catching". No smell of fuel either. I leave the car another 30 minutes then come back to it and it starts fine. Now this morning again it didn't start and hasn't started yet (still cranks but nothing else happens). My mechanic isn't finding any codes, actually, he say's its as if the car isn't even talking with the diagnostic equipment.
Any ideas?
First thought was fuel pump
Second thought was timing belt (although the car only has 42K on the odometer)
Third thought is the computer which somehow got fried from the car wash

I blame ricers.

But on a serious note that sounds like something you want to take to the dealership.

Just take it to a autoparts store and they can test you battery to see how it is doing. My brothers car did the same thing when his battery was about to die because it had problems storing power. And if its not you battery they should be able to help diagnose your problem. Plus you should check your plugs also since you flooded ita little.

Did you get much water under the hood? Sounds like you soaked something. I'd let it sit in the sun with the hood open if you can, and give things a chance to dry out a bit. Its odd that theres no code though.

As much as I would like to blame the ricers I think we can exclude them from this particular issue BMWtoAUDI

Thanks for the input guys, I'll talk with my mechanic more tomorrow and start looking at other culprits such as the battery, coil packs, etc. Because I was able to start the car and drive it without any problems a few times before it totally died hopefully I can count out the timing belt.

I'll keep you posted.

Well, here is the update. My mechanic just called. He found water in the ECU along with a bunch of burned out wires. Looks like water from the car wash got inside and fried the box. The car was chipped two years ago with a Dahlback chip (done by the previous owner at a very reputable Audi Performance shop). Now I need a new ECU and need to be rechipped. Maybe I'll go with a flash type instead where the box doesn't need to be opened up. Any thoughts?

Well, on the bright side, atleast it wasn't a broken timing belt.
