CEL and emissions test...

My CEL is on and I have to run through emissions today will that cause me to fail?

Yep it will fail the test. Go to the shop and get it cleared and fixed because it takes 75 miles for them to pass it.

I've also heard that they can see when the CEL was cleared and if it was within a certain time period/mileage they will not pass it either.

i took it in on my lunch break and they cleared the cel. so do you mean i have to drive 75miles before i will pass now? thanks.

You got it. Then can check when they cleared it. I had to do the same thing to pass my a6 through smog.

75 miles to set it up? that's new but then again im in the UK ( when you reset a fault code it doesn't date stamp it ) and if the car is warmed up after a good run and passes the emissions what does it matter if it was done at the test center? strange test machines you guys have over there

MAF has its own fault code and the codes you mention are intermittent but it has been known for the MAF or vacuum line which would effect the MAF to cause misfire, clear the codes and see if they come back and if they do look for vacuum/air leaks
