Can anyone tell me how to replace a thermostat on an Audi TT 00'?

Its definilty not that easy requires alot of removing things and tight spaces prepare for a 2-4 hour job depending on how technical you are

just have to remove the intake manifold and then the coolant hose going into the engine block. the thermostat is inside that hose

its also located by the alternator (just right of it in that hose going into the block

How do you remove the intake manifold without wasting all those goofy one use hose clamps? I've been in there fiddling for hours trying to avoid dropping the manifold off, but its looking grim.

It's possible to do without removing the manifold. You will need a variety of extensions. Here is a step by step that MarTT put up on Audiworld...Take your time, it's not a real tough project. Just cramped space.

my apols there I was thinking coolant temp sensor cough which by the way is where the stat is or should be
