oh pish posh applesauce! the celica will pull on the high than any of the 180 TT's stock for stock. 6 speed tranny > 5 speed tranny.

true any where else, the 1.8T would smash on the celica espfrom a dig (40 lbs. more torque), etc. even though i'm chipped, the pull in5th is ho-hum.the 2zzge had such sh!tty tq. though(180hp/130 ft-lb.) but where it shined was on the highway. ive taken out a couple Type-R's on the highway in my old celi. well i guess best way to find out is to find a GTS that would run you on the freeway

as for alltrac's, they were rally/street cars for 4th,5th gen celicas but GT-Four pretty much became the standard which was popularized by the 6th gen rally star, thecelica GT-Four.

GT-Four = AllTrac = 3SGTE engine + AWD

Well you may be right about the180... I have never driven one. I used to take out Type R's with my Celica as well...I remember when the Type R was the sh*t....now it it just an afterthought LOL.

I'm gonna agree with .clipse on the celica and it's weight issues. A curb weight of 2500lbs aint too shabby......now if they could get it down to the 1900 that the Elise is...you would have a monstor seeing they share the same engine (+10hp).

The numbers however aren't that impressive, a stock 225 roadster, as reviewed by motortrend delivers better basic performance. Reviews that I have read is that the celica GTS is a hoot in the corners and if you can keep the revs up it can be a very fun track car.

Another thing, I hope they do make this GT-4 because as of right now, Toyota does not have sh*t for the enthusiast driver. I was pissed when they did away with the Celica.

though they did release tsunami editions as a last hoorah for the celica. alot of newstuff on toyota's plate, this up and coming RWD/AWD celica, new RWD levin/trueno, ft-hs conceptand alas the new supra monster. wonder if the new supra will topple the GT-R as jdm supercar king for under $100k [&:]
