So I don't know what this car is all about. So far it's proven to be nothing but a big dump of money. Few weeks ago CEL came on for a dead Precat o2 Sensor. No biggie. I bought a new OEM one from ECS - Put it in - 3 days later CEL pops back on with the same code. The o2 Is brand new and totally fine soo There's no way it's the o2 again.
It's still got the random popping on startups and all that junk. Is there some Big sensor I just havent replaced yet that could be on the fritz? Is there a MAP sensor in the IC? I see a wire trailing down the charge pipe - I think i'm gonna rip the front bumper off and investigate. I think im gonna give this car 2 more chances then if im still replaceing stuff and trying to get it to run right. Think i'm just gonna trade it in and get another toyota pickup. First start of the day driving around the cars very sparatic and jumpy. I strongly doubt it's the MAF...AGAIN and at $130 a pop it had better not be.
I've been thinking of just removing the hood and front bumper then just tearing off Post turbo all the way to the head and cleaning/checking. Have any of you done that and aprox how much time would I be looking at. I just need this damn car to run right.

 

You need a scan tool for that. It's prob a missfire & the O2 sensor is reading to much oxgen in your exhaust.

 

I would just guess what the error is myself a few more times, then give up and sell it.

 

Ive done it a couple of times, it would take about 4 hours nothing too hard headlights well need to be removed if your cleaning all the pipes.
Dont give up, it could be something simple. plugs, coilpack?

I had a Toyota Tacoma before my TT.
Never a problem. There's no fun in that.
First day with the TT, I got a CEL. [:@]

 

Did you replace the Pre Cat O2 as well? You may give that a try. Or get a Sparkplug Non-Fouler from Autozone Help Part No 42002 and drill a 1/2 inch hole in it and place the O2 in it and attach the second Non Fouler and then put it back on the post cat. That will take care of your CEL. If you get the below Thrashhold error. Do you have a Vag com?

 

I don't have vag com but I have that little reader ECS tuning sells. And Here is the list of how much I have changed in this car: ECU - Plugs - Packs - Cat - MAF - o2 Sensors (Pre and Post) - Timing belt/tensioner and water pump - Coolant Temp sens - Oil/Filter - Thermostat - Boost Controller - EGR - DV. I just can't afford this stupid car anymore. I fix one code and More just come up. Both o2 sensors have less then 400 miles on them and ugh.

 

I miss my toyota alot. And aye Jake I was thinking of doing that. But when I look at all the reciepts on my desk of How much i've put into this car to get the freaking CEL off. I just can't bring myself to buy anything else for this car.
