Default Console/dash noise indentification ? ?

Since i bought the car there has been a rotating/winding noise coming from the center console. I didn't notice how annoying the sound was until i had to reset my clock after daylight savings and had the radio off(aftermarket radio). I had thought it was the CD player spinning, but once the player was off the sound was gone. It basically starts up when the key is in the on/start position. key off = no sound. i believe its possibly coming from the climate control, if i tap on the side of the console it will make it stop/change, than back to the usual. is it a normal noise for TT's or think it's leading towards something bad ? If anyone has any input id love to hear it. Thanks

There's a little fan in there.. i guess so the climate control knows the temp inside your car. They were cheaply made and get loud after a while. Mine is annoying also. I don't know of a solution other than replacing it. Maybe some compressed air? idk...

They collect dust, blow it out with some air and it SHOULD help.
