Default cylinder head porting

So I was looking at porting my head for my audi tt225 and I came across Port Tuning. They do the whole job for about $1100 which isnt bad I guess. They say i would gain anywhere from 25 to 30 hp. Would it be worth it? I have to do the T-belt and waterpump soon and they said they can do the whole job for about $1700. Just for the t-belt and water pump where I live cost $1300. So I figured for the extra money why not get a little bit more hp. Has anyone done this to there car?

i have a big port head sitting for my car i havent installed yet, it has been extrude honed and all intake valves were bored one over. head work is always a great mod, and the more other stuff you do the more it makes. i would go through with it personally.

Will the ECU be able to adapt for the new power in doing a head swap, I was going to get a AEB head, have it all honed out and matched up. But was alot of money but its an idea for the future?

you will have gains without the chip, but much more with a chip. aeb heads are a good option.

Would the ECU adapt for the new flow or will it require a differnt tune, or tweaks maybe?

stock big port > ported small port. There is a section that you cant really port out on a small port to equal the big port.

The only problem with swapping heads is you have to take account for things like water pump (external vs interanal) and vvt. So there is a little extra cost involved also.

Im sure the ecu will adapt to the new airflow but like ray said, it wont be optimized unless tuned for it. Kinda like adding cams.

My AMU isnt VVT, the water pump I didnt know about, mine is internal the AEB is external I am guessing what do you have to do to get it to fit?

cincy is right, big port will always beat out the port and polish. boring valves adds cost but levels it out. millions of options out there, do alot of homework.
