That isnt a double din. You have move the heater controls down to have a double din. Someone posted one about a fixed gps screen not to long ago that has the double din install.

Big Kenwood fan me ownself - but not comfortable with mechanical screens - don't get me wrong, that looks too cool - but too many moving parts - starting/stopping the car causing it to go in and out everytime (not to include the vibrations of just driving...). Seems like it would wear out too soon for my taste. But I could be wrong...
I had a Kenwood Excelon KDC-x969 for a couple of years... it's not a DVD unit, but it's motorized the same way. I never really had any trouble with it; they did a good job of damping it so that the vibrations wouldn't be an issue.

Since I'm a non-smoker I'm thinking about opting for the double-din config. http://www.tt-designparts.de/en/detail/68
Has anybody seen a less expensive double-din thing? I'm trying to avoid blocking controls/vents... I'm contemplating something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/4-CAR-IN-DASH-DV...QQcmdZViewItem

About as happy an ending as you can get through the mail - LOL

But seriously, the thing is milled from solid aluminum and he does great (HIGH QUALITY) work and I would spend double that to get what I WANT, not something that might be cool.

Does anyone know if the Eclipse AVN7000 single din flip out can have the silver lid closed?
