Default Dear APR:

Thanks to your excellent tuning software and R1 valve my car is now driving faster and sounding much cooler- keep up the good work!

When I first pulled out of the shop I wasn't that impressed with the performance increase but over the last few days it has seemed to have grown on me- am I imagining this phenomenon or did the car adapt and improve performance? I love it now though- just had a $ shift from 1st to 2nd and chirped my brand new tires, thats a first for my 180q.

Dyno is the only way to really know if you had a good gain. Im sure your did because I know APR and im sure they would do you right. After spending money you always think its faster but sometimes thats not always true.

APR is usually considered not as agressive as other chiptuners. Most seem to agree that GIAC X+ is the most aggressive.

giac x-chip is for 225's, and you were right about the chip adapting to the new maps, it takes a couple days to fully adapt. I felt the same difference, i wasnt too impressed in the begining and then after a few hours then after a day or two i was like "this is awsome" i have apr 93 flash btw

Yeah i have the APR 93 too along with the stock program too, I knew that APR was the most conservative tune but I went with them b/c the shop was close and I was concerned about driveability and longevity, my TT just hit 100k and I would like to keep it for another hundred thou or so! or at least long enough to do a few more mods-

I started out with a GIAC chip on my 225 then switched to APR, and of the two I like the driveability of the APR more.

GIAC X is not a 225 HP exclusive Chip. There are many 1.8TGTIs and GLIs etc running this chip... its just software and they change the setting on it depending on your model car.

GIAC X will work on any 1.8T .. just model/engine code specific.

I have GIAC 91+ and my car has 168kms on it. in miles that is 100.8k miles, drives fine, never had a prob with the chip or durability of components. Really durability is determined by the drive and not the chip maker. if you beat your car dont matter if you have a chip or not ... you are still beating it.
