Default Delete front grille?

Has anyone ever considered replacing the TT front black grille with a mesh grille, and installing the Audi emblem on the hood? I was considering it and wondering if it would look funny (on a 2001). I was thinking something similar to this 2008 model:

changing the grill. yes people have done that.
putting the rings on the hood? i doubt people have done that and there is a reason. It would look dumb

That would make it look a little off.

I was thinking it might because the hood is so far up and the bumper is so large. I was hoping someone had done it so I could see before I try

well what you could do is throw on a mesh/blacked out grill and take out the rings from your 5/3 bar. then rest the rings the hood and take pics and post up a thread, gain feedback before you apply the adhesive
