has anyone put together a DIY for the 180Q downpipe? or is it pretty straight forward?
for some reason i feel like someone had to cut their DP to get it out

arent those like 500 bucks?
and cincy, you think if i open up the rest of my exhaust eventually the gains will be even greator? or do you think if i found a way to get a cut out to work that would be better?
i cant wait for my adj. rear control arms!!

was gonna finish up the FMIC with that cash, but apparently the rear's are way too low w/o the rear perches that my camber/toe was way out of spec.
Definitely need to drop the subframe to get the 180q stock downpipe out in one piece and may be necessary to get the 3" in. 42 tried to get the prototype in without dropping the subframe again but didn't want to mangle the heatshield to get the flange past so the subframe was dropped again during install. The car was on a lift as well (of course).
TTkid- I was impressed with the power I got from the new downpipe, after the dogbone mount broke in and the ECU adapted it was even better!

^^ see you say i have to drop the subframe to get it out in one piece... the thing is my dp is broken at the flex pipe already, and im assuming that the 3' dp comes in 3 pieces for a reason...
idk if i want to do this or have a shop do it up on a lift haha

I'm pretty sure you're in for a tough install if you are doing it with without dropping the subframe and without having the car on a lift.
Want it to be more difficult? - Be the first person to install it blindfolded!
yeah, shipping size, design flexibility for cat/testpipe, and post-install tweaking to adjust fitment.
I believe the hard part is getting the turbo flange past the tight areas, not the length of the DP itself, although if the car isn't on a lift shorter sections=better

Nuthin' wrong with paying people with the right tools and knowledge to perform a task- the sooner it's done the sooner you will be driving and enjoying it right?
Tight fit:

Thats the 3" tubing, imagine how the flange gets past that if you don't drop the subframe.

See the scrapes above the flex section? That was an attempt #1-
Don't get an alignment until after the DP install b/c front subframe removal can throw alignment out of spec, you don't want to pay for it twice!
