Default dv forge in now what?

Hello everyone,
does anyone have the write up specifically for an 01 tt 225hp?
i researched in the diy but the car in the pic does not seem the same.
does any one have a write up? pictures are greatly appreciated.
1. DV replacement
2. MBC installation, is it the same as the 180hp?
3. boost guage?
i looked at cincytt links but i'm still confused.
it's a long weekend and i'd like to do some work on the car.
TIA

so, you have a DV, but you don't know how to put it in? Same for the other things in your list?

putting it in is easy, locating the part underneath all that stuff is frustrating.
just had the intake manifold off to replace a pita hose underneath.
just looking for a tip on how to quickly do it.
removing the tires, front bumper, lights a necessity?
there's gotta be an easier way.

thanks.

Geez, you sound like you're trying to extract a tooth, but going in thru the *** to do so.

DV sits near the firewall, you really shouldn't have to do more than take the plastic covers off the engine, the boost gauge- Tee into the FPR (fuel pressure regulator) line, which is only a few inches long, right off the intake manifold. You'll need to drop the lower dash and pick a somewhat easy to get to hole in the firewall. I fished it thru with a clothes hanger. You're on your own as to which wires to get power from, I screwed around with the volt meter and picked one that was switched with the ignition, not with the lights, so it would be on all the time.

MBC, I haven't done, nor have I really looked into it too much, so I'll leave that for the more experienced.

thanks achTTung, that's a relief, i thought i had to remove all the stuff i mentioned earlier.
weather permits i'll have it done today.
pcboi808, the car is not chipped YET...... thinking about it actually can't find one in columbia SC to do it.....if there was one nearby it would have been done already,
plus reading up on APR, GIAC and REVO can't seem to decide w/c one and w/c onee offers more flexibility for future upgrades.

thanks everyone

I like Revo (which I have) with their SPS program switches and configurable softwarevia laptop. All 3 are very reputable, just find a dealer near you...you'll bee very pleased. There is also no need in installing a MBC until you are chipped. Correct me if I am wrong anyone but while stock the ECU will prevent you from overboosting and could throw you in limp mode.

For the gauge. I recommend ditching the hard nylon line and going with some rubber vac line. The nylon tends to kink VERY easy on all boost gauges that I have installed over the years.

1. First decide where and how you are going to mount the gauge.
2. Remove the lower dash
To do this first remove the screws inside the fuse panel (believe there are 3), then remove the ones under the dash in plain view. You will also need to remove the screw
holding in the hood release. Once the screws are out you should be able to pull the dash out and down so that is now sitting on your lap.
3. Now to locate the grommet in the firewall. You should be able to see it pretty clearly. It is a small rubber round groment back in the firewall located in the same area by the N75 valve (right, from the center of the car). Once found poke a hanger thru it. Tape the vac line to the hanger and go to the cabin and pull it thru. Connect the engine side to your FPR. Located on the right side in front of thevalve cover(with engine cover removed). I pulled the line off the FPR, cut a small piece of my vac line(1") put it on the nipple. Inserted a T and connected the stock hose to the other side and the new line to the top of the T.
4. For power I used the light control switch. If you are sitting in the drivers seat with the dash in your lap look down to where the light controls are. You will see the wiring connectors going to it. The connector on the right should have a light blue wire on the top (top is closets to you, I believe it is a light green wire on the bottom) tap into their, this not only provides your power source but also allows you dimmer control over the guage. For the ground you should see a star looking mount with a bumch of brown wires going to it. These are the grounding wires. Remove the bolt and connect the ground there and retighten.

Put everythig back and you are done.

thanks mobius97 for that block of instructions,
for the moment, i just ran the hose from the fpr to the gauge and read somewhere between 19-20 psi vacuum, is this normal.
i guess that's why it's called a vacuum line.......but 19-20 psi....
at what vacuum would indicate a perfect vacuum in the car and what would indicate a leak?
thanks.
gtg back to hooking the guage.....
