Default DVs and BOVs

ok, ok. first off i searched and got a lot of information but not exactly what i need. i know that BOVs are not supposed to be used on MAF cars and that most of you hate the sound. personally i love it. anyway. i heard somewhere that the reason the BOVs dont work is because the DV is located after the MAF. what if yo were to move the BOV before the MAF that way it notices the drop in air?

also, if it is not possible to change the placement of a DV or BOV what is the loudest DV made. i really enjoy the sound of a turbo spooling up and blowing off.

i searched and there is so much stuff i dont have enogh time to go through it. i only can be on the comp like 5 minutes a day. i thought that maybe relocating the DV or BOV behind the MAF would make it work.

If you are in it for the noise rather than the performance.. .get this.

Actually the sound a BOV makes is cool - never said I didn't like it - but doesn't serve a purpose on this car when on others it does. From what I recall the 1.8L Turbo is a closed loop system. A BOV circumvents this by diverting to the atmosphere. A DV sends it back through. Correct me if I'm wrong, mates.

But if all you want the BOV for is for the sound - go for it. But like I mentioned on another thread BOV's are like spinner wheels it's all about the "image" and serves no purpose on the TT.

My Hyperboost sounds cool - though I'm sure it's not as loud as a BOV - it still grabs attention when used [:-] and from what I hear, once I get my VTDA CAI from ModShack it will be even louder (but I'm all about the sleeper aspect of this car, myself). Forge is another popular DV as well...

Moving the DV/blow off infront of the MAF isn't any better I don't believe. That air is being recirculated thru the MAF twice in that situation.

that will work but your not gonna get any more of a sound because its recirculating the air. i should make a post on this.

i really would like more performance but the group of people im usually with all drive STIs and EVOs so i have grown accustomed to the sound. i personally have always had natrually aspirated, big cube, off road trucks so i have never had the pleasure of having a turbo. i will admit that i am a sucker for the image but seeing as the people that i will be competeing with have some serious power i really could use all the performance i can get.
