Default engine covers

So I have all the engine covers removed under the hood but I was wondering how many people remove the cover from under your engine. The one you need to take off to get to anything (change oil...) under your car. Any harm in not putting it back on?

I have not had mine installed for about 8 months because it had to many broken tabs from falling off at high speeds I have not noticed any negative effects from not having it on but if mine wasnt garbage I would use it

Many dont have them since they get busted up. The only downside are you are a little more exposed for damage (oil pan, lines, etc). I never had one and i have owned my car for well over 2 years now

Thanks for the fast response. I have mine but one of the sides where it mounts by the fender has been broke since I got the car. It hangs down a bit and I am worried about it at high speeds. Think I will take it off since theres no real downside.

Thanks.

It also decreases air flow.....if your not on a track doing time trials I'd take it off.

WHAT?!?! The cover is very functional since it makes the car more stable at highway speeds and draws air to places for cooling/removing hot air. If you have one, its best to run it, however, not having one isnt going to hurt much since they cost way to much are are hard to find. People can get the diselgeek cover which is aluminum and will protect lowered cars better.

Craaap. I was going pretty fast down a service road and now I'm almost positive that thing flew off (I just got my oil changed). I thought maybe I just ran over something, but after this, I may go back to that service road and look for it.

Correct me if I'm wrong about this......but from what I understand the covers under the car are more for drag coeficient rather than guiding air torward components.......Less drag more fuel economy/efficiency take your pick.
