I have an 03 TT quattro coup and it seems that when I accelerate around 3-5k rpmthe engine will cut out or hesitate for just a split second giving the car a little jolt. It has now done this several times and im not sure what it is. Any ideas???

 

Did you recently change the spark plugs, or do you have and CEL's?\

 

I just got the car and it showed that it just had a tune up, so im sure the spark plugs were replaced

 

Don't be so sure...

And if they were, it doesn't mean they are the right ones.

 

If you bought it from a dealer take it back and have them fix it.

Most states have lemon laws that will protect you within a certain timeframe.

 

its either the gap on the plugs is wrong or your tip is collapsing. It going with the plugs

 

1.) How many miles?
2.) Is it a 225 or 3.2 V6?
3.) Did you buy the car from a private party or dealership?

 

I got the car from a dealer, its the 225hp and it has 83,000 miles

 

Get and install a boost gauge.
Check/replace your spark plugs (they're cheap anyway).
Get your timing belt and accessories changed if it hasn't already been done.

How long ago did you pick you TT up? If recently take it back to the dealer, and demand they deal with it.

 

I had the same problem. The spark plugs must be gapped EXACTLY correct. Make sure they are at 0.028. It'll most likely solve the problem.
