Default engine problems plz HELP!!!!!!!.....

I bought TT Q 225hp two days ago and everything was o.k. until today...I was cruising the city and stopped at red light, put the gearbox in neutral and engine went a bit wild (jumping from 800-1300 RPM) and i had feeling it wasn't working an all 4 cylinders...green light started and so did i but the car's response was wierd i felt nudging and trembeling so i went home and park it....Two hours later i started car again and everythig was o.k. ????????
"Hope my english is o.k."
So if enyone had similar problem or knows the solution i would be grateful......

....Troubled owner......

Welcome to Audi Forums crazyboss!

Since you're new... check out the START HERE! (click this link) link to get a rundown of the lingo/vocab here at audiforums.

Then be sure to search the archives when you have a question. Chances are the question has been asked before (probably several times) and the archives will have plenty of information to answer your question. If you still need answers, please feel free to ask questions.

Don't feel intimidated; we are all a bunch of pretty cool guys (and gals). Feel free to post advice, comments, ideas, suggestions, and even pics.

Could be a few things... Is the car still under warranty? If so, get it checked for codes. If not, see if you can find someone with a VAG and have it scanned for codes. It could be coil packs, bad gas, failing MAF, etc. Regardless, have it checked soon.

Hi Crazyboss,

What year is your TT? Where are you from since you are worried about your English? I am from Germany so if you need to type in German we can do that as well

I agree with ImolaS4, take it to the dealer and have it checked. My guess is that the MAF wire(s) got dirty or it has a loose connection.
I would take the MAF off and check it. Then use an Airduster and very lightly spray some air into the MAF to clean off any dust or
other particles that may have dislodged themselves in the MAF. Check all connections to make sure they are tight.
Pull the coil on plug and pull the sparkplugs and examine them. I would replace them with the original OEM NGK plugs when you
are already in there. If you don't want to mess with it than just take it in and have them find the problem. A lot simpler and a bit
more expensive but those poor dealerships have to make their money somehow

Keep us posted on what they find. Hopefully you don't have a bunch of wild Gerbils running wild in your
engine

How is the weather in Croatia?

Have a great day!

Sorry for not visiting some time....So i need to continue story 4 the guys who helped me and also someone who has same problem.
I went to take a diagnose on V.A.G. and it said there is mailfunction on Motronic 5.7. wich is engine computer, and it also said to check 2 or 3 fuses and that the air intake valve is not working(opening)...So i checked fuses they were O.K. ,dismantle air intake and that was O.K. too....and finaly checked wires and there was problem....Intake electronic had a loose connection.
I put it back firmly and now the car is running like a dream....
Special regards 2 ImolaS4 and ofcourse Tom1222..

P.S. Tom1222 you were wright from the beginning...

Thanks again and this is great site!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually had a similar problem, but the car started to feel like it was going to stall. The check engine light actually started to blink and then ultimately ended up staying on solid. I took it to one dealer, he replaced the battery and some spark plugs. The second dealer actually had to replace some sort of Air recycling valve. I apologize that I do not remember what the actual part was. However, it was covered under warranty. I have not had any problems since then. Good luck trying to figure it out!
