Default Exhaust compatibility with 180 & 225

I have a 225 oem exhaust for sale and a guy with a 180 wants to buy it. can anyone tell me what fitment issues will occur?

if he has a 180q it will fit he will just need a dual exit valance. If he is fwd it wont work.

i always wondered about 180TTQ backwards compatability with the 225... so for example i wanted to sell my 180TTQ neuspeed exhaust to a 225TTer...

Yes it will work I just fitted a 225 exhaust on my 180Q. You just need to get a reducer the 225 is 60mm and the 180q is 50mm. .clipse they will work both ways

^ the spare tire well in the rear of the 180TT FWD usually where the muffler sits in the quattro TT's

Is it possible to delete the muffler and run a straight pipe? And how would that effect peformance?

^ yes it's possible. i suppose it's a more 'straight-through flow' and relieves a good amount of weight in the rear.

a lot of guys here have deleted their muffler and can give you their $0.02

ya i deleted my rear muffler and my car sounded like a rice can. About 2 weeks in I put back my heavy stock muffler and went back to the quite, stock exhuast drone. I couldnt take the high pitch, turbo whistling noise that the car made. The TT was designed as an elegant sports car and the muffler delete just ruins its form.

^ i'm actually in the process of having a resonator welded back in and deleting my muffler... will give input soon!
