i would think running a 3" dp and 3" catback would be better than 3" dp with no muffler. Just my thoughts though. if i have 2 exhaust cutouts on my rear bumper i would like some tips coming out.
if you want your car to sounds like a tractor go for it. Thats just not my style

that's only a tractor IF you straight pipe it. meaning NO resonator and NO muffler. i have a deleted resonator and myxyzxo has a muffler delete. and they dont sound like tractors =P and yes you DO keep the tips.. they're welded onto the pipe that replaces the muffler

but yes, a 3" dp with a 3" cbe will no doubt be better than w/ a 3" dp and muffler-less stock exhaust, but see i'm thinking performance to cost ratio. a 3" cbe will net better gains, but for the amount you spend on it, you're better off deleting the muffler w/ a 3" DP... that is if ur stock. if u have a 3" DP and have the cash to throw around then by all means get a 3" cbe.

hell i'd trade my neuspeed exhaust for a stock 180TTQ exhaust + $250 on their end =)

in front of the back tire. Behind the front tire would blow exhaust in your face.

well the exhaust came in. My brother didnt bring his cam so i cant take any pics yet. Overall looks pretty nice for 403 shipped, the welds look great and overall looks like a quality exhaust. The inner pipe diam isnt 3" even thought it said it was it isnt... it is a hair over 2.75. lol. My only complaint (not sure if it matters yet i havent looked under my car.) The piece that will bolt up to my DP isnt flanged? did audi use clamps at the DP and not flanges? If it is a flange then i will have to take it somewhere to get it welded and that will P me off. Also it didnt come with a gasket to connect the main pipe to the muffler part. If my stock one is decent i will reuse it and use some of that copper gasket stuff for exhaust.... Otherwise i need to find a 3" exhaust gasket.

i give it a thumbs up though.

edit: just looked under my car it is all clamp fitted and not flanged. so i need to get a gasket and hardware to install this exhaust... not sure where to get the gasket prob autozone or something... I will put it on sunday so i hope to have a cam to take pics by then.
