Default exhaust install completed

I finally got done doing my 42dd catless downpipe, which was NOT even close to as easy as everyone said, especially with no rack. lol But anyway I installed it with my borla kit, which I guess sounds nice and tuned, but not quite as loud as i would have liked outside the car. But everytime I actually get on it hard, I hear a clunking sort of noise. I put it up on the rack at work and saw where the motor rocks when on throttle, and pushes the flex pipe portion of it into the subframe and dents the flex portion...others have same problem?

its common, you need dogbone inserts. They are about $25 and take about 30mins to install

HELL YES! i was hoping i wouldnt have to deal with that after all my money and hard work....i looked on specs about the 42dd pipe...said flange was adjustable? thought maybe i did something wrong, which is kind of hard to do...just 3 bolts...so dogbone inserts..the bottom motor mount? why do i need them...where do i get them... lol thanks cincy

You can get them from ecstuning, ttstuff, any place that sells 1.8t stuff. It is the mount on the bottom that keeps the engine from rocking forwards and backwards. Some come with 3 inserts but you only need to change the 2 on the end, the 3rd you need a press to remove/install but the other 2 are more than enough to do the job.

The D/p is adjustable. I use a VF dog bone. I like very much.

you are suppose to get new strech bolts each time you remove them, but many have reused them w/o issues, so its up to you if you want to spend a little more for peice of mind

ok and also...it is not quite as loud as i want..... should i remove the resonator that came with borla? and if i do...is there any downside of it? and also....if i get a new pipe rebent there...should i just have the same pipe size bent....or go up to 3" and adapt it to the borla muffler? and if i do that...how does it bolt up to the downpipe? just need opinions...

i DOUBT that they put a resonator on a bend. it's just a straight pipe in place of the resonator.

correct me if i'm wrong. but, you need a "break in" period of the exhaust. let the packing heat up in the muffler and drive the **** out of it. over time, it'll reach the peak db of the exhaust. may not be as loud as you want it at first.

i did the resonator delete when i 1st got my neuspeed bc i thought it was too quiet for me. sounded good. then over time to where it is today, it now sounds great =)
