Exhaust Valve question.
Ok due to my TB failure, I am being told that all 8 of my exhaust valves are bent. I checked with ECS and there are 2 different types. One is Sodium filled (OEM) and the other is not Sodium filled. My question is, do I have to go with Sodium filled valves or can I just use the non sodium ones. There is a big price difference between the 2.
What will happen if I decide to go non sodium?

The cheaper valves should be fine for stock or mild upgrades. A better choice would be going to qedpower.com and get iconel valves from supertech @ $239 which will be good for any amount of power you will ever use. The only reason i say this is because they dont say what the $20/valve on ecs are made off. The stock valves are weak at the stem and will break with power levels around 400whp
hmmm..that 239 for a set (8) is very cheap. Going with ECS pricing I will be paying $600 for 8 ($75 per valve) of the valves that I needed. My only concern is about the sodium filled valves. the 239 dollar valves doesn't state that they are sodium filled or not.
The question is do I really need to use Sodium valves like the OEM ones. Or will the 20 dollar valves from ECS work?

did you even read my post? I know you read some since you posted $239.
The ones from qedpower are the ones people making big power use since the stock sodium filled ones are weak and will break with higher hp. They are iconel filled and can take the exhaust heat far better. I dont know what the $20/valve at ecs are made of and that makes me weary. If you dont plan to do anything besides the stock turbo, they COULD be fine, but i wouldnt risk it

off topic... but ghetto? mise well? ha might as well??
haha, anywho, like cinc said, the vavles from qedpower are the way to go, especially bescause the head is off anyway so its not like its going to be more of a pain to install those rather oem ones

Tyvm Cincy, I did read the your post. I just didn't understand what Inconel was. Due to the huge price difference. I THOUGHT the sodium filled ones from ECS were better. As of now I am in contact with QED. Trying to get my order placed. Once again thks.
ok, that makes sense. Yeah, the stock ones are hella expensive since they are well.... STOCK.
Probably the same as ecs, but MJM has a set of 8 exhaust valves for $135 shipped http://www.mjmautohaus.com/catalog/p...oducts_id=3164

I have a friend that owns a parts store, he already gave me prices for the TRW set that is advertised at MJM. Selling it to me at his cost. But I think I am going to continue talking with QED and have them over night me their valves.
