Default Same problem, overheating at stop and no cold a/c

Ok I see no post recently to this issue. I am having the same problem, seems my 2002 Audi TT Quatro 225 Turbo was overheating at stop until I got her back on the road and going again. Took the coolant down a notch or two. Also my A/c was blowing hot air, not cold. Fan works in the car just not cold. I found the box on top of the battery and just pinched the clips on the right and left side and lifted. 3 fuses on the right, cant miss them. I haven't pulled them yet. Want to do it in front of my local NAPA and pick up the fuses there.

Wish me luck fingers crossed.

On another note though, the **** on the left of my a/c cracked apart in my hands. **** still works just seem to find out that these things are pretty delicate. Anyone have any experience on replacing the a/c *****?

Default Fuses?

My Airconditioning is not blowing cold air, and the compressor is not kicking in or spinning, should i try the fuses on top of the battery or the relay box?

The key always seems to be the fuses in the box on top of the battery. If one burns out, it's almost sure to be a short somewhere.

Default Fuses #2

I tried replacing the three solid green 30 fuses with three red clear fuses. Nothing happened with the ac, My battery went bad today after changing those fuses. Are the green fuses a special kind of fuse

No, nothing special about the green fuses. I had the same issue with dead fans and a/c compressor. Found one of the green fuses was simply loose. Fixed that and now all is working but my a/c cycles from cold to hot. Still looking into that one.

i stopped in my favorite hot-rod shop, APTuning independent audi-vw specialist while i was in the area, lebanon pa about 55 miles from home, i got a diagnostic for my concern of not seeing any fans run since i got my 01 TT in dec 2011, they said though the lo-speeds in the fans run the high speed function does not. prolly why i have not had overheating issues yet with the still cooler pennsylvania weather, a well spent $56.71, now i can order one and drive with peace of mind, i hope

Default Cooling Fans

Both of the fans on my TT'01 start to run automatically at 94-95 degC, so bi would be halfway between the center mark and the 3/4 mark. It is very consistent at that level. The level is not stable though that if the ride is continuous the temp will be at the center at about 78-80 degC and in traffic at the 95 degC mark. Is this normal?

Default Did it work?

Did the relay improve anything? Cooler? I have not heard of the fan switch, where is this found, at the radiator's side?
