Default Fat Five question

I am getting new wheels and winter tires, hopefully today if I can figure this out...

I have an 02 225q, and I have the fat fives on there now, with 80% worn out kumho asx's... they still are fairly good in the wet surprizingly, BUT I am getting winter tires/wheels from tire rack (unless someone has a better idea about where to buy...

I am unsure about width...I wonder are the stock fat fives that I have 17x8??? or 17x7???

I know some may say to get anarrower rim/tire for the winter, but I maaaay get OZ ultraleggerawheels or something nice if I feel a little wild and then use the new wheels for summer too (after winter convert the fat fives to winter), so in case I do that, I want to get the same width as my fat fives, etc...btw, the winters Iwill getare the dunlop sp winter sport D3.

and feel free to tell me I will be nuts to get nice rims to put though the winter... but I am getting them all mounted and balanced, so the real question is to get 99dollar asa's or some real purdy ones... with cheapos I will use the fat fives in summer, if I get real nice wheels for sure I will use them in summer in place of the fives...

any help would be great, thanks!

17x7.5 @ 21lbs. Go with 215/45/17 for winter. The skinner the tire/wheel, the easier it digs in the snow. Jetta/git stock steelies are ideal. Think they are 16x6
