Im guessing this is an instrumental cluster problem, because my fuel gauge is WroNG. it keeps saying that I have full gas but I dont... what is up? Is there a simple fix for this besided getting a new cluster?

Maybe.

Could be that your senders are dirty, you can either run a few tanks of some sort of fuel line cleaner thru, or pull the senders, and manually clean them.

Maybe try adding some Chevron Techron to the fuel tank ? It helped when my gauge was slow to rise....must break up some gunk on the sender.

Search for threads started by me. I had the same exact problem. I followed a DIY to clean the senders and it seemed to fix things... I cleaned one out of two, but maybe I shouldve done both...

If you have a VAG COM you can eliminate the cluster being bad in about 5 minutes by doing a gauge sweep. Go to module 17 and select output diagnostics and the gauges should all sweep together, if the gas gauge wacks out, you know its a cluster problem.
