Default f'd up my brake caliper... suggestions

OK, Today I went ahead and changed the brake pads on the right rear of my car. In doing so I think I did well up until the brake calipers piston wouldnt go back in. After like an hour of screwing with it I take the fluid line off and commence to disassembling it till its just the caliper in my hands. So at which point it still will not retract back. OK a litlle more insite, i am using a 8" C-clamp, the same one I used saturday on my LR3, which did work very well...Saturday, not today though. imthinking that the caliper in stuck, which in that event would mean I could hit it with a hammer, my frustration level was met, then relieved by the tender loving taps with the hammer.... so it begins to move back inside the calipers housing. I put it all back together, so I could at least move the car out of the way.

BTW, the clips on the back of the pads... what is their function? and where do they go?

I come in to order the calipers. Come to find out, theres a dang ol' tool designed to turn the calipers piston back inside. Going to order that too.

Also the light on dash was lit, a yellow triangle with arrow around it, after I change the caliper will this light go off?
Will these calipers be an acceptable replacement for the OE ones on the car?

research my man...

yeah, the rear pistons need to be turned while you retract them. The metal tabs on the back of the pads, if I understand what you're talking about, slip into the piston to hold the pad in place, and keep the noise down.

Yeah, hind site is 20/20.

The tabs I was talking about are the spring like ones on rear of pads. Do they get squeezed together or spread apart?
Found this, I think I should have used this info before my little fiasco
