Default Finally got a TT! Need some help.

Well I got a TT yesterday. It's an 02 225 Coupe in Brillant Black with Torq black wheels with a chrome lip. Anyway, I live in South Mississippi and I rode all the way to Lafeyette Louisana to get this car. I got there and the car looks great. Paint looks great interior is pretty good. Anyway, I wait around looking at the car waiting for my salesman to finish up with his previous customer. When he gets done we go for a test drive, this is where it gets interesting. I've driven a 225 TT before and I know exactly how they drive because I drove one for about a week. As soon as I cranked it I could tell something was up with this one. We back out and I hear some strange noises coming from the clutch and a LOT of vibration. After I ride it around the lot for a few minutes to let it warm up I get out on a 4 lane road and open it up a little bit and the shifter is shaking violently and the whole car is shaking from 1000 rpm till about 1700 rpm after that it smoothes out pretty good. So I ask the salesman what the hell was that? He says that a local mechanic in town believes it is the clutch and that it will be repaired. Me smelling a good haggle oppurtunity I jumped at it. They were asking just below 18000 for the car (low miles) I picked out a few little kwerks with the car and starting negotiating the price down. So I got them down to 15,500 and them giving me papers saying that they would pay an Audi dealer to repair all of the problems I noted and fix whatever might be wrong with the transmission at their cost. So I think as long as the repair work comes out good I will come out ahead on the deal. Anyway, they offered to have the car repaired then delivered to my house. I would have liked to do that but, I sold my old car the day before and I needed to take the car now so that I would have transportation. We agreed on that. The dealer decided that I would have to take the vehicle to an Audi dealer in Baton Rouge within the next 30 days to have it repaired. I figured that would not be a problem. On the drive back the car feels perfect on the interstate even at 80. Only problem, the clutch slips badly when you get into the gas. Didn't really bother me because I suspected the clutch anyway and I knew it would be repaired. So it makes it back to my house in Mississippi with no problems. Later that night I took it over to my friends place and when I left the transmission would not engage any of the gears. I figured out that I could start the car in a gear but could not engage another gear except into neutral. I figured out this is because the clutch is not fully disengageing. The car would still move under its own power with the clutch to the floor. Anyway, I want to take the car to Baton Rouge Tomorrow (monday) to the Audi dealership for service. I started the car this morning and it will engage gears while running now like it was before so it will drive. I think the clutch heating up causes it not to fully disengage somehow. However I have a few questions.
*What do you think the problem is? I'm assuming the clutch, but you fellow TT owners would probably know better than me.
*I'm pretty convinced I can get the dealer to flatbed the TT to Baton Rouge for service, but in the event that they won't do that would it be safe to assume that I could drive the car to baton rouge (3 hour drive) without further risk of more major mechanical damage? The main thing I'm worried about is once I get off the interstate and start having to change gears that the clutch will start not allowing the tranny to disengage.

Sorry about the extremely long post but I figured with more info it would make it alot easier to diagnose the issue. Thanks for the help!

It wont make it my tt did the same thing it sits parked until hopefully this week when my clutch arrives your clutch will go all the way out on the way there if they wont pay for the towing your best bet is to rent a suv and uhaul trailer and tow it there prolly cheaper than paying someone to tow it

Ya, true, it could go out. Its not slipping extremely bad. I still get good acceleration out of it but it's just when full boost kicks the motor starts out running the tranny. I guess its just one of those things that you don't know until you know lol.

sounds like because you cant engage the gears you cant drive it...

im thinkin your getting away with having all this paid for, because it sounds like the bill to fix it will be greater than the 2500 you got marked down so you won there...

just make sure the audi dealer does a good job

in my opinion id have it towed and get a loner
