first time tt owner need advice
So I have my first Audi after owning primarily Hondas. Big step for me but they are beautiful cars. Anyways what I have on my hands is a 2002 Audi TT Quattro, 6 speed. The front end is wrecked but rebuildable. (obviously) lol Since I have to replace the front end anyways, is it possible to put a newer year front end on? Or would the alignments be all screwy? Sorry if i ask ridiculous questions, I dont know much about cars but I am more than willing to learn.
HAHA! ya i most def wish. But you get what you pay for and I didnt pay much. Again I am really new to this world lol what exactly is the mkII? I tried googling it to no avail. I really love the new front ends but I just wasnt sure if it was feasible to put it on my car. Thankssss.
That's some pretty serious front end damage. You're front body and hood alignment on perfect OEM pieces is going to be "all screwy"! If you mean the front end from the current TT (referred to as the Mark 2, or version 2), there is no specific kit that looks like it for the older TT (referred to as the Mark 1, or version 1). There are kits for the MK1 that mimic the new "corporate grille", but not the rest of the front end. It is obviously possible to do whatever you want to do, but you won't get any prefab parts or a "how to" post on putting a MK2 front end on a MK1.
In any case, you have MUCH bigger problems you are going to have to solve before worrying about cosmetics... At a minimum, you have some coolant system issues, as well as some major structural problems in the front frame/supports. You could well also have damaged intercoolers and control arms. Spare parts on these cars are NOT cheap, I wish you luck in finishing up "ahead" of a more intact used vehicle with lesser damage.

I hit a deer a while back.... I can tell you are going to be screwed buying parts. There are virtually no used tt parts available. Each headlight is $900 USED, Hood is $550, the parts add up FAST. The front licence plate bracket alone is $82. Your going to need to repaint everything expect the trunk and roof.
Here was my $4500 in damage. It was mostly parts and paint. Very few labor hours (maybe 10).
