its a custom set up...polished bar and plate intercooler, polished aluminum piping....got it from a friend who has a shop....pipe is wraped to try and keep engine heat away from the pipe. i have also heard mixed opinons on it. yea its a 225..and the polished canister is the tank for my air horns, but i am also interested in the forge polished catch can.....

It is a air compressor filter and you can see how will it works. I believe it works far better than the regular style catch can. The best part is that you can go to home depot and pick one up for $13. With a few fittings and some hose and your done.

i just might have to do that! the one i'm thinking about getting (supra forums) sells em for around 90 just like greddy but has all the fittings and looks very very sweet and also has a filter. do u know how many cc s the air compressor filter can hold?

It is now where near the size of a normal catch can. The reason is that a normal catch can needs baffles and tons of steel wool to slowdown and remove the oil from the air. The filter can easily hold enough to go between oil changes unless your car is spuwing out something other than oil. So size wise this fits way better in the engine bay (mine is under the engine cover) and works far better.

OK. At the cost of sounding like a amateur, what is the catch can for? What benefit does it serve? If it was important why wouldn't have Audi put one in? Any how thanks for the info.

A catch can separtes oil from the air that gets recirculated from your engine to intake. This helps prevent oil from getting inside your turbo, then into your pipes, and pooling in your ic and then back into your engine.
