Default Forge DV help...

Hey Pistonheads!
--Slapped on my new Forge 007 DV today and I must say...not impressed. I thought the improvements would be substantial, but I think I actually increased my turbo-windup/lag-time. I have a ram-air intake and I am running the yellow spring (5-15psi). I don't have my car chipped so I figured the yellow spring would be the right choice, but my performance seems to have dropped. The only changes I've noticed is I can hear the thing fill with air and the blow-off (or diverted pressure) is alot louder....thats about all

what am I doing wrong?

Get a boost gauge, then check all your hoses and make sure that you are not leaking any air or boost. After that if that dosent fix it, it may the DV. Maybe it is bad.

The DV itself wont' give you any increase in HP. It just does a better job of holding what boost you have. The DV is there to dump pressure when the N75 tells it to when you lift off the throttle to shift. A leaky stock DV just doesn't hold the pressure when you are under load and the turbo is at its peak. The sound of a pressure dump is a good thing, that means it is holding the full boost pressure instead of allowing some to bleed by.

Yeah, I got how the blow-off works. I'm noticing a longer build up time when I accelerate. The Forge is actually less productive than my stock DV. The air diversion is fine, it's the boost build-up time that has me concerned. I'ma re-clamp and check the hoses tomorrow...
hopefully it gets better!
