Default Fuel pressure Regulator?

hey guys,
when i remove the two covers under the circle covers of my car, there is the fuel pump on the left, then a cap on the right.
what is the right side
when i look up the fuel pump under car-parts.com it says left or right side for quattros....
and also will a 225hp fuel pump work for a 180hp?

The awd cars have a split tank. They have another sender that takes gas from the right/drivers side.

Awd tank. You can see below where is split due to the exhaust and driveshaft. ALso notice the sender for the right side of the tank

And here is the smaller single tank for all the fwd cars.

As for the pumps, the 225 pumps work in all cars. APR uses them with their turbo kits. Just that the fwd cars dont need the reciver part for the right side tank.

thanks for the quick reply.....

now for my problem
at the fuel rail, im getting 45psi....i was told it should be at around 75......
so, either the fuel filter or pump is at fault.....now, i will try a filter either tonight or tommorw....but if it is the pump, would i have to just replace the pump, or both sender and pump?

thanks

the fuel pressure is at 3bar. 3 x 14.7 = ~45psi. Your at where you should be. Who ever told you 75psi is high, thats 5bar.

Dont know how they are measuring fuel pressure, but its at 3bar throughout the line.

Take it to the partstore and have them test your starter, battery and alternator. Couldnt hurt.

fuel pump and pressure are working/fine. I really would have the starter tested. The engine still would turn if it was bad i do belive.

Shouldnt be (not saying it isnt) unless you messed with the ignition wiring or swapped ecus. Only way you will get it running if it is, is by getting the code and inserting it with a vagcom or taking it to the dealer.
