Default Gaining Interest - Audi TT Side Blades

If I offered something similar to these side blades in fiberglass and the price was right, would you guys be interested?

I'm going to attempt this sometime this week.

Seems like it would hurt performance and gas mileage due to increased aerodynamic drag. It would look good, but I'm gonna have to go with a No on that one. That's just me though. I don't particularly like mod's that don't do anything for performance, I really don't like anything that hinders performance. Just my opinion.

Hmm. That's understandable, but In my opinion, if it only stuck out about a quarter of an inch, and then still had some form of grille inside of the opened gap, I don't think it would be too aerodynamically unstable.

Why not just cut holes in your fender and vent the rear brakes while you are added.

My CD changer does get a little warm sometimes, maybe it can vent to that compartment?

J/k I think people have been waiting for these for a while.
Whether you can pull off the look or not will be the deciding factor.
Good luck.

I had thought about making some of those for awhile now. Just never got around to doing it.
As for drag, once the low pressure forms around the blade there shouldn't be much drag to speak of, especially if it is only sticking out 1/2" or so. The air will pass right over the blade with no problem. There are lots of cars that have them, Mustangs are one example. Besides it is less drag than some of the spoilers people put on their cars.
I would be more worried about the blade ripping off the side of the car and smacking someone behind me.

Not to hamper you, but I drive a TT, not an R8, so probably not interested in those exactly.

Now, going in the direction of brake cooling + ducting like XCLR8TT mentioned, but not making it look like one of the focus points of another model of car. With that, you might have my interest.
