You drive a turbo car with little to no lag, so decreasing the size of the exhaust is pointless. Plus when you get to a bigger turbo, the larger exhaust will allow the turbo to spool faster so again, no point in running a smaller pipe.
There actually is lag until 2500 rpm, but what I meant by that is......going with a bigger exhaust will increase h.p."less resistance=higher possible flow rate=potential power gain" and depending on the setup will actually hurt torque. I didn't mean to decrease the diameter of the pipe if you want more torque, just using it as a reference to a stock exhaust.
Tell me how often the car is below 2500rpms besides in 1st gear moving from a stop? Plus a larger pipe will still increase tq along with hp, it was somewhere around 10ftlbs last i remember and more power throughout
